Santorini National Airport is located in the southeastern part of the island, to the south of Monolithos and only 6 kilometres from Fira.

There are regular flights to the island from Athens (Athens International Aiport – Eleftherios Venizelos) and Thessalonica (Thessaloniki International Airport – Macedonia). Flight time to from Athens is 35 to 40 minutes and from Thessalonica about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

During the summer months there are also flights to Santorini from other popular Greek islands such as Rhodes, Mykonos and Crete.

Santorini's main port, Athinios, is on the west side of the island, approximately 12 kilometres from Fira.

From the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Thessalonica there are daily sailings to Santorini.

Sailing time from Piraeus is between 7 and 9 hours depending on the ferry.From Rafina Santorini is about 6 hours by ferry and from Thessalonica about 19 hours.

There are also many other itineraries linking Santorini with the other Aegean islands.

The island's second port is in the capital Fira. Most departures from the harbour are short cruises and excursions to the volcano and Thirassia.
